Unless you are living under a rock, you must be familiar to the name Ranu Mondal! The latest social media sensation is no self-proclaimed rapper or a woman who was caught on cam, cheering for her favorite team in a stadium. She is an actual powerhouse of talent.

Ranu Mondal, who used to work at Ranaghat railway station caught netizens’ eye when a video of her singing popular Hindi track, ‘Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai’ went viral on social.

Ever since there’s no looking back for the woman with a soulful voice. From a stunning makeover to TV show offers and finally recording a song for the music mogul, Himesh Reshammiya, fortune has turned in Ranu’s favor overnight.

Born in Krishnanagar, Nadia, after her mother’s death, Ranu spent most of her childhood at her aunt’s place in Ranaghat. She was recently issued her voter-ID card with the name Ranu Roy. Roy was reportedly her surname before her wedding. Hence, officials issued Ranu’s voter-ID card with her surname before marriage. She thus flew to Mumbai to record her first song with Himesh Reshammiya for his upcoming film, Happy Hardy And Heer, reports India Today.

But seems like her fame has more in store for her as the viral video helped Ranu reunite with her daughter, Swati recently. She reportedly lost contact with her daughter a long time ago. After her video went viral, Swati managed to find the whereabouts of her mother and visited her in Mumbai where Ranu was busy recording songs.

The happy faces of the mother-daughter duo in a picture that is going viral on social media says it all!

Recently, a parody video made by a comedian from Odisha which mocked the viral recording session of Ranu with Himesh Reshammiya surfaced on social media. An FIR was lodged against the comedian after the video received massive flak online.
