A small village Bhiwani in Haryana is a hub of international level boxers who have brought laurels to our nations not once but numerous times. Vijendra Singh, Jitender Kumar, Anil Kumar, Kavita Chahal among others who hail from the Bhiwani are some of the prominent names that have held high the head of India at Olympics and other international tournaments.

No wonder, Bhiwani is popularly known as ‘Little Cuba’ around the world. To add to the league of these phenomenal boxers of the village here comes, Rajesh Lukka, who has turned fortunes in his favor merely on the basis of his hard work.

Lukka spoke about his struggle from being a tea-seller to a world-class boxer to Times Now.

“I am a tea seller and a pro boxer, Boxing is not just a part of my life but it is like my life I have been fighting for many years now and my family has been the driving force for me to start professionally boxing,” he said.

Talking about his journey in professional boxing, Lukka said, “Initially, my aim was just to bout in international games but pro boxing has enabled me to carve out a newer, more exciting and rewarding career path. I am excited to be fighting in the top card category against Adam, who is known for his strong strategical moves. Overall the fight night is surely going to be captivating and I am really thrilled to be a part of this.”

Lukka is not the only sportsman in the country, who are working hard to fund their dreams. The photos of an international woman Taekwondo player, Diana Ningombam from Assam selling fruits on the street to make the ends meet went viral recently.
