I am a firm believer in the fact that if you are born with privilege, then you should use it to help those who do not have it. We spend so much money on food delivery and online shopping apps. What if each one of us took a bit of that money and used it to help someone in need? The world would be a happier place. 🙂
For example, an Instagram blogger named Tarun Mishra helped a 75-year-old ragpicker to become a vegetable seller, a heartwarming video of which was shared on Twitter by IAS officer Awanish Sharan.
In the video, Tarun spots the elderly woman picking up rags from a pile of garbage. When asked what she would do with them, the woman replies that she would be selling them. Tarun then goes and visits the woman’s house, which was not in a very nice condition.
Moved by her plight, he first takes her to buy groceries and other essentials for her house. Then he takes her to buy kilos worth of vegetables of various kinds along with a weight-measuring machine. He also buys her a wooden cart!
He doesn’t stop at that. Tarun buys her a new saree as well for her first day as a vegetable seller. The woman then performs a few rituals to commemorate the happy occasion. Have a look at the video here:

People online showered immense love on Tarun and were inspired by his act of kindness for the ragpicker. Here’s what some of them said:
Hats off, Avanish! I’m in tears looking at this. Sach mein, why wait for governments and ministers when we can make such a huge difference ourselves…one man at a time. Keep inspiring!
