Calling endless number of times, checking each other’s every move, bombarding your partner with love and affection, possessiveness to the extent that it starts feeling claustrophobic – these are some of the things that have been established as problematic and not romantic.

“I am not a cool girlfriend. I will ask you once, twice, thrice, fifteen times. Where are you? What are you doing? Who are you with? I will care umpteen times. Have you eaten? Are you safe? But several people online weren’t impressed by this and called it “romanticising toxic behavior“. Priya Malik might have received many comments criticizing her verse because, on Instagram, she turned off the comments section.
