This Poet’s Rant About ‘The Privileges Of A Penis’ Is Proof, Not All Men Are Patriarchs!

This is not just another post by a feminist, for feminists. But this is an appeal, to everyone who cares to listen. And here it goes…

We’ve all had guys in our group, who’d casually make jibes, judge and joke. Guys who’d talk big about gender equality but ask their girlfriends to wear longer skirts. Guys who’d go for marches, holding candles, and the next moment cuss with abuses that revolve around mother/ sister. Guys who are unaware of their inherent, layered and covert sexism. And it would enrage me! Their selective feminism boiled my blood until I realised, that the rage is taking me far away from gender parity and neutrality.

But then I tried better. I tried to listen with not just my ears, but mind open. And I heard a man who makes me a better feminist. In a video, uploaded by UnErase Poetry, this poet pens the privileges of a penis and nothing has convinced me of our cultural conditioning like his rant.
