In today’s age and time going on a digital detox is important. But what happens when the Prime Minister of India decides to do so? Yes, you heard us right. PM Narendra Modi took to twitter last night to announce that he might take a break from (or to be precise, ‘give up’) social media, reports NDTV.
Have a look at his surprise tweet:Â
This Sunday, thinking of giving up my social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube. Will keep you all posted.
— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) March 2, 2020
PM Modi posted the same message for his Instagram and Facebook followers as well:Â
Modi, who is known for his art of communicating directly with people, has always used social media to his advantage. The tech-savvy PM has a huge presence across various digital platforms. According to the Times of India, the PM has 53.3 million followers on Twitter, 44.5 million on Facebook, 35.2 million on Instagram, and 4.5 million Youtube subscribers.
His announcement has shocked and also surprised many people. However, no official announcement was been made yet on the NaMo app or the official PMO India account. Well, only time will tell if the PM will really ‘give up social media’ or not.
