Scientist Reimagines The Perfect Human Body And Let’s Just Be Glad We’re Not Perfect!

There has been a belief that the human body stopped evolving some 10,000 years ago, and since then humans have been evolving via cultural evolution, not biological. Then again, there is also an argument that human evolution hasn’t slowed down or stopped at all. The cultural evolution has simply made way for adaptive evolution, which has only accelerated the process a 100 times faster than our average evolution rate over the years.

But have you ever imagined what the perfectly evolved human body would look like? Something that could survive anything that the future throws at it? Well, science and technology have got your back.

Anatomist Alice Roberts managed to redesign the perfect human body, minus the flaws that make us, well, human. It’s a new and improved replica of her own body. Say hello to Alice 2.0!

The life-size model is the culmination of Alice’s research, wherein she attempted to understand the flaws of the human body that make it vulnerable and prone to damage. She then took inspiration from the amazing way that animals have adapted and evolved themselves for survival, eventually coming up with Alice 2.0

For this interesting project, she sough help from one of the world’s best virtual sculptors, Scott Eaton, and top SFX model maker Sangeet Prabhaker.

The interesting twist here, is that Alice herself had not yet seen the final model! When the reveal was made to an audience of 140 people at London’s Science Museum, Alice was one of the completely clueless and thoroughly excited folk!

Her reaction?

“She’s so different. And yet, in some ways, so realistic!”

She sure had a thing or two to say about Alice 2.0, considering those ears and eyes that made her look like Gollum from LOTR! Not to mention, there was a baby’s face jutting out of her belly!

She did have second thoughts after the initial shock was over!

But it’s very very cute at the same time!

So wait, the ‘perfect’ human body resembles a scary Frankenstein’s Monster? Why?

If you’ve noticed, a lot of Alice 2.0’s body draws heavy inspiration from the animal kingdom.

Alright then!

But that’s not it. Notice the large ears and light-sensitive super-sized eyes? They assist in heightened senses. Alice 2.0 even has tiny pumps in her thighs that help blood circulation, and a choke-proof windpipe which, I guess, is always a plus, right?

As for the most bizarre and grotesque of them all, the marsupial pouch serves as a means to ensure a painless childbirth.

“This could be a human fit for the future.”

You can get to know Alice 2.0 a little better watching this video.

Well, the future just became a little scary-looking! But hey, we gotta STAN for body positivity, so I guess, you do you, Alice 2.0!
