India is truly incredible, isn’t it? There are a lot of things that keep happening around. And, we don’t know how to react to this one. In the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) database, a peculiar name popped up in the list of Aadhaar Card applicants. And, it was of dead al Qaeda chief, Osama Bin Laden. The man behind the 9/11 attacks. Intrigued? Here’s what happened.
Saddam Mansuri, who runs an Aadhaar registration centre, tried to enrol an Aadhaar card under the name of Osama Bin Laden, in Bhilwara’s Mandal area (Rajasthan).
According to a Times of India report, Sanjay Aludia, Department of IT’s Mandal circle programmer said,
And, the Police have filed a complaint against Mansuri, who claimed to be innocent and said someone else might’ve uploaded the details.
BTW, this maybe the first time Osama’s Aadhaar card application has reached the database, but in the past, our Hanumanaji was also on the list.
In September 2014, in Sikar District, Rajasthan, a man tried to get an Aadhaar card for Hindu-deity Hanumanji too. His photo was of the God wearing a crown and donning the pearls and had ‘Pawanji’ (Vayu, The Wind God) listed as the father.
Now, how quirky can India get? We have to wait and see.
Just wondering, what would have happened if indeed a card would have been issued under Bin Laden’s name?
