Remember the 2009 psychological thriller ‘Orphan’ where a 9-year-old girl is adopted by a loving couple and later she turns out to be a 33-year-old woman and goes on a killing spree?
In the film, she suffered from a rare hormonal disorder that stunted her physical growth and hence, she looked like a child. There was also this case of a real-life orphan where a couple claimed that their 6-year-old child is actually a 22-year-old “sociopath”.
However, now, Esther is back. The trailer for a prequel of the movie named ‘Orphan: First Kill’ dropped online which documented Esther’s life before she was adopted. The character Esther is played by the same actor, Isabelle Fuhrmann.

In the trailer, we get to know that the daughter of an American couple named ‘Esther’ went missing for 4 years. She was then “found” but soon after, the parents realised that there was something “off” about the child.
Since the name of the prequel is ‘Orphan: First Kill’, it can be said that it’s about how Esther kills the entire family and sets their house on fire – the latter detail was mentioned in the first film.
