It is true that love knows no bounds. It is also true that love knows no age. For if there is one thing that we have learnt from the popular film ‘Life In A Metro’, it is that love can happen to anyone at any age and under any circumstances!
In a classic and truly unique tale of love, a 70-year-old man tied the knot with a 55-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Ashoknagar district recently, after falling in love at a hospital, reports Patrika.
Their story began when the two were admitted to a hospital and were allotted side-to-side beds. Both were undergoing treatment at the same time. The man, Umrao Singh, and the woman, Guddibai, got to talking and soon realised that they were hit by the Cupid’s arrow!
It took them just 3 days in the hospital together to fall in love and decide that they wanted to get married. So after getting discharged from the hospital, Umrao Singh took Guddibai to his village in Bhurakhedi to ask for consent from his kids and grandkids.
Umrao Singh has 4 sons, all of whom are married, and 12 grandchildren. It was only after his full family agreed that Umrao Singh and Guddibai tied the knot in front of the whole village! Umrao Singh’s eldest son even danced his heart out while handing over the ‘varmala’ to him.
There was a huge wedding procession where drums were being played. People sang and danced and showered the couple with gifts. It was truly a blessed affair!
