Our younger selves always dreamt of doing something crazy for their 18th birthdays. Turning 18 was like finally getting the ‘adult’ card – or the license to do anything and everything, or so it seemed, and that called for a wild celebration. And I’m pretty most of us have fantasized about having a cannabis-infused cake for the birthday party!
And one guy did, and things took quite an inappropriately wild turn after that…
An old man who had recently been discharged from Warrington Hospital in the United Kingdom had brought left-over cake from his grandson’s 18th birthday party as a ‘thank you’ gift to the nurses who attended him. The cake was a beautiful red-velvet, but what he didn’t know was that it was infused with weed! And soon, the nurses were high!
According to Metro UK, a member of the staff revealed that there were around 3-4 nurses who felt “relaxed” after having the cake.
“They were eating the cake an then the next minute the staff were all off their faces! It was brought in by a nice old man as a thank you, but it was full of funny stuff and had them all relaxed”, she said.
She further added, “There was no impact on the patients whatsoever, but they all knew something was wrong, so the police were called in.”
After an investigation conducted by the police, they confirmed that the cake contained cannabis. However, the considered the incident to be an error made by all parties involved.
“It was genuinely an error by all parties, even the person who put something in that he shouldn’t have because he didn’t know it was going to the hospital. Nobody knew that, and that’s why we’re not taking it any further”, said a police official.
All the poor Grandad wanted was to say thank you in a sweet way but in turn, he got the staff stoned!
