The world is becoming a scarier place to live in by every passing day. Atrocities towards women are pervasive and is already a global cry. With nerve-shivering incidents about sex-slaves and hostages, that make their way through the ISIS camps, it is really a sorry state of affairs.
While the world has come together to fight domestic abuse and violence against women, a Moroccan state TV broadcaster recently aired a makeup tutorial. No, it didn’t compare different cosmetic brands and their effects rather showed ways to conceal marks of abuse!

The segment on channel 2M had a woman whose face had been made up to appear swollen and bruised. And a makeup artist who showed how to mask the injuries and ‘carry on with daily lives.’
As translated by The Washington Post, the makeup artist (speaking in Arabic) gave instructions to patch wounds inflicted by beating with makeup. She said,
“After the beating, this part is still sensitive, so don’t press.”
“Make sure to use loose powder to fix the makeup so if you have to work throughout the day, the bruises don’t show.”
The channel, however, has issued an apology but the segment has already incited a storm of fury and anger from women (and men alike) from all around the world condemning the insensitive act.
1. Shameful!
Host spends more time talking about the best brand of makeup to cover domestic violence bruises than the actual issue of domestic violence pic.twitter.com/JUpNyqZ4dY

Yes, mistakes happen but no amount of explaining can justify this horrible and unacceptable misconduct. PERIOD.
