Woman Mistakenly Thinks Car Seat Cover Is A Skirt, Wears It To Office

All of us make silly mistakes. Sometimes they’re amusing and sometimes just plain stupid. Like a guy who mistook his girlfriend’s thermometer reading for a positive pregnancy test. Or another who posted pictures with a bouquet of flowers that were meant for a colleague and not him!

Goof ups are inevitable. But what matters more, is how you deal with them. Do you look back at them and lose confidence in yourself? Or do you learn to laugh at your own expense?

Blogger and expectant mother, Lori Farrell, did the latter. She wore a striped ‘skirt’ to work and belatedly realised it was actually a car seat cover! Instead of feeling down about it though, she shared her very relatable #FashionFail moment online.

If you feel like a failure today, just know that I wore a car seat cover a friend gave me because I thought it was a skirt. 😂😂😂😂😂 Itzy Ritzy The Mediocre-ish Mama

Lori is expecting a baby in June, which is why one of her friends decided to give her some hand-me-downs. Baby clothes, blankets, toys, pregnancy pillows etc that she had. When Lori saw this black and white striped garment, she assumed it was a maternity skirt. She did have a moment of doubt when she saw that the tag was in front rather than the back.

But she turned it around and wore it to work anyway. Later, she looked up the brand online and discovered that it was a multipurpose car seat cover cum nursing cover for moms.

Her photo has since gone viral with 36,000 comments and 64,000 shares.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Lori said,

“I just hope people get a good laugh out of it, which it seems that they have. Given that the internet can be cruel, I like that all of the comments have been positive, and I’m making people smile.”

People loved the fact she wasn’t embarrassed to share her goof up and also agreed that she looked awesome in the makeshift ‘skirt’. It just goes to show that we shouldn’t always take ourselves so seriously. It’s alright to laugh at our silly mistakes.
