PM Modi Wins TIME Readers’ Poll For Person Of The Year Beating Both Obama And Zuckerberg!

PM Modi has been making waves across the globe this year. He made it into the global papers when he decided to ratify the Paris Climate-Change Pact earlier this year. Furthermore, his recent demonetisation initiative, one of the most radical moves by an Indian PM, spurred a very significant global reaction. Some came out in support of the move, while others criticised it.

Owing to his global impact, PM Modi recently won the online reader’s poll for TIME Person of the Year. He won 18% of the vote, beating global leaders and influencers like Barack Obama and Mark Zuckerberg!

He won by quite a wide margin since Obama and Zuckerberg only received 7% and 2% respectively.

The poll results also revealed that while PM Modi obviously performed well with Indian voters, he was also well received by voters in California and New Jersey.

When TIME selects a person of the year they look at those people who’ve had the greatest global impact in the last 12 months.

While the online poll has declared PM Modi to be the clear winner, the final decision for TIME Person of the Year will be made by the editors and will be announced on the 7th of December.

Let’s hope PM Modi is declared the overall winner as well! *fingers crossed*
