Manmohan Singh Suprised Everyone With His Speech On Demonetisation And Twitter Erupted

Indian Economist And Former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, called out Narendra Modi’s demonetisation stride government’s monumental management failure. In his ten minute long speech, he made some really good points.

Speaking at Rajya Sabha on demonetisation, Manmohan Singh said that he doesn’t disagree with the objectives of demonetisation but called it’s execution a failure. He said,

“The way it has been implemented is the monumental management failure. And, in fact, it is a case of organised loot and legalised blunder by the government.”

“My own feeling is that the national income, i.e the GDP of the country can decline by about 2 percentage-point as a result of what has been done.”

He even urged PM Modi to find a pragmatic and practical solution for the situation and to relieve people of the stress.

He even spoke about the hardships weaker sections of the society is facing. He said:

“It is important to take note of the grievances of the people suffering. 60-65 people have lost their lives, what has been done can weaken our people’s confidence in currency and banking system.”

And to those hailing the demonetisation move, he added:
