Woman Gets An Impromptu Maternity Shoot With Bees And It Looks ‘Un-Bee-liveable’

What is the first thing you think about when I say the word bee? Probably a sting here and a sting there? If you are one of those, then this lady is going to shackle all your perceptions with these beautiful maternity pictures.

An Ohian lady named Emily Mueller decided to get all ‘honeylicious’ with this unique maternity photo shoot, where she covered her baby bump completely with 20,000 bees.

Emily opted for this distinctive shoot due to her love for bees. The soon to be mother owns a bee removal service with her husband and through this photo shoot, she wanted to spread awareness about the honey making insects. Here is what she said to People.com.

“People think I’m putting my baby at harm, But bees are gentle, and I hope my bee belly helps people see that they aren’t as scary as you might think.”

But it was not all planned before hand for Emily. The decision was made when she got a call on the morning of her photoshoot for removal of a hive in a park. Here is what she said to Daily Mail.

‘I had been called to a swarm removal that morning so I fed those bees sugar to make sure they would be content and gentle enough to work with,’

Emily’s close familiarity with bees did not mean that the photoshoot was going to be ‘honey-smooth’ for her! The lady did get stung thrice by the bees but as she admits, it was because of her mistake.

‘I felt calm throughout, though I did get stung three times, I accidentally squished one with my butt and another under my arm pit, and the third time I was pretending to eat a bee jokingly and I squashed one against my lip,’

The beautiful pictures of the lady were clicked by a talented photographer named Kendrah Damis. Bees are an integral part of the eco system and whether we agree or not, their presence is must for a balanced environment. We appreciate the way Emily made us ‘bee-lieve’ in bees!
