Court Orders Man To Pay Woman ₹1.9 Lakhs For Hurting Her Feelings Via Texts

Wouldn’t it be amazing if women could have Rs 100 for every unsolicited and hostile message they received from men? Because if you see what’s inside a woman’s ‘Other Messages’ folder on Facebook, you’d know that there are plenty of them!

Having said that, a man in UAE was ordered to pay a woman 10,000 dirhams (Rs 1.9 lakhs) for sending her insulting messages on WhatsApp and hurting her feelings, reports Khaleej Times.

The woman then went to court to seek compensation for the damage she suffered mentally as well as reputation-wise. She sought compensation of 100,000 dirhams.

The Al Ain Court of First Instance convicted the man in the “criminal case” for “insulting the woman” and said that the incident had caused moral damage. They ordered him to pay the 10,000 dirhams for damages along with her legal fees, reports Times Now.

If only everyone could get compensated for their hurt feelings! 😛
