In several Indian cities, the problem of open gutters and water leakage is common. However, the blatant wastage of drinking water is unfortunate and must be remedied at the earliest.
Recently, a social activist bathed in a roadside pit filled with drinking water in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. He did so to grab the attention of the Tiruppur Corporation officials, reports News18.
Have a look at the video of the incident shared by Twitter user Mugilan Chandrakumar:

The activist had allegedly been notifying the corporation about the wastage of lakhs of liters of drinking water in Kumar Nagar for over two months. However, no actions were taken. So, when the man finally spotted the pit, he decided to take a bath in it to let everyone know about the issue.
People appreciated the man’s efforts and asked the officials to take action immediately:
Smart way of protesting. See, I love protests, especially when it's done innovatively like this

Some times actions can’t be done immediately but at least it should be initiated water is very precious source and if it’s drinking water then it’s is more than anything

However, the officials have denied the man’s claims and have said the leakage has been had there for only a week. According to them, the regular water supply has not been affected, reports Hindustan Times. The issue is expected to be resolved soon.
Natural resources should be preserved and their unnecessary wastage is very shameful. We hope the leakage is stopped soon.
