29-year old actress Malvi Malhotra, known for her roles in ‘Udaan’ and ‘Hotel Milan’, was stabbed by producer-stalker Yogesh Kumar Mahipal Singh on Tuesday after he pressured her to marry him. She is currently undergoing treatment at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai where she revealed she has undergone plastic surgery, reports ETimes.
In her latest interview given straight from the hospital, Malvi began recounting the day of the attack, “There were a few people who were cycling on that road when the incident happened. They brought me to the hospital.”
She traced the beginning of the events, starting from the day when she went for a meeting with a show’s DOP. She recalled, “I had just come from Dubai, I was there for 15 days. I thought the harassment would stop. But Yogesh stalked me on the phone even there, and even when I blocked him, he was at it from different numbers.”

She continued, “After my meeting which happened at a cafe in Seven Bungalows (Andheri), I was walking back home since my home is just 5 minutes away from that coffee shop. Suddenly, Yogesh came in a car and said that I should talk to him and why I was avoiding him. I told him to stop the tamasha. Instead, he got down from the car and stabbed me in my stomach.”
She revealed, “Next, he wanted to injure my face. I kept my hand on the face to avoid any injuries but his knife went deep into my right hand and wounded it badly. The fingers region in my left hand also got inflicted with bruises. I went down on the ground as I had started to bleed profusely.”

Malvi opened up on how she had been avoiding Yogesh ever since she met him after her visit to Ooty, where she was shooting a Tamil film some months ago. She explained, “It was our third meeting. I had met him on professional grounds twice before in January 2020, he said he wanted to cast me in a music video he was making. He has worked with many established actors from TV. At this third meeting, he told me that he loves me and wants to marry me. I politely told him that is not possible but we can still remain friends. After that, I refrained from meeting him.”
Yogesh too maintained a distance for a while, but it didn’t last long. He even started stalking her often outside her building, waiting for her with flowers. She said, “He started messaging me and I knew he was clearly on some other trip. I had to clearly tell him to stop it. It was getting too much; once he waited for 10 hours outside my building.”

Malvi had not mentioned the producer’s harassment to her parents, relatives, or even her closest friend and fellow actor Prashant Bajaj. She exclaimed, “I don’t like unnecessary fights. Aise log toh messages karte rehte hain. How would I think that this man would do such a thing?”
Prashant Bajaj, who has been by her side since the incident said, “Whatever has happened is terrible. Malvi is in deep pain and agony. I still can’t forget the phone from Malvi’s call ‘bachao mujhe, woh mujhe chaaku maar raha hai’ that night. I think it happened around 8.30 pm. Even when she doses off for a while, Malvi thinks that someone is inserting a knife into her mouth.” He added, “Malvi’s parents are expected to be in Mumbai (arriving from Himachal Pradesh) by tomorrow or the day after.”
Malvi concluded her ordeal by revealing her health status, “I think it will take 2-3 months before I am alright. Right now, the fingers of my left hand are not moving. The knife incision in my stomach was about 1.5 inches.”
On Tuesday, The Tribune reported Malvi stating, “I would like to request Rekha Sharma ji who is a chairperson of National Commission for Women to look into this matter and support me. I would also like to request Kangana Ranaut ji to support me in this matter because I also belong to Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The kind of incidence which has happened to me in Mumbai, I didn’t expect it in my dreams, so I just want their support in my fight against the injustice.”
Actress Kangana Ranaut came forward to help by tagging National Commission for Women chairperson Rekha Sharma and tweeting, “we will get you justice”.

In a shocking turn of events on Monday night, the stalker Yogesh Kumar allegedly had met with an accident on Mumbai Ahemdabad highway as he was trying to escape the city in his car. He was traced to a hospital at Vasai in the neighboring Palghar district and detained by the Versova police team. He has reportedly suffered from facial injuries. The police said, “A team is keeping a watch on Singh. He will be arrested once he gets discharged. We then learned that Singh lost control of his car and it turned turtle on the highway.”
As per a report in HT, Yogesh Kumar is yet to be apprehended. Chaitanya S, who is the deputy commissioner of police (operation) stated, “We have registered a case under section 307 (attempt to Murder) and 354 (D) (stalking) of Indian Penal Code and section 37 (1), 135 of Maharashtra Police Act and are investigating the case.”
