As Sania Mirza Wins Khel Ratna, Here’s Everyone Who Have Won This Award Till Now

Sania Mirza always manages to stay in the news. Be it her performance at the Wimbledon, her ramp walk for a fashion show or her stand on an ongoing issue, she is sure to leave a striking impression.

This time Sania Mirza has added another feather to her cap by being the proud recipient of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. She has been given this award for her splendid performance in the game. Earlier she has already been awarded Arjuna Award 2004 and Padma Shri in 2006.

The prestigious Khel Ratna award is India’s highest honour given for achievement in sports by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, government of India. The recipient is given a medal and a cash prize of Rs 7,50,000. Starting from the year 1991-1992, the awards has till now been given to some names that India is really proud of:
