“I Have A Boyfriend” Says ‘Pooja’, Jamia Millia Website Hacked 3 Times In 24 Hours

Life is all about moving from one problem to another with brief commercial breaks in between. And since India is so diverse, the number of issues are equal to or greater than its population. That said, there are light-hearted and meme-worthy moments as well. The latest contribution of that has come from Jamia Millia Islamia University.

It was reported on Tuesday that the university’s website was hacked by an anonymous lover of a certain Pooja. And once that news went viral, the internet laughed out loud and provided lots of suggestions to the girl in question. However, that was not the end of it as the site got hacked two more times in two radically different ways.

Reportedly, the first attack on Jamia Millia’s website took place on Tuesday midnight.

According to DNA, Jamia Millia University was hacked a 2nd time and it was a reply to the anonymous lover from the first hack.

When the site was hacked for the first time, it had the message “Happy Birthday Pooja. Your love”. While a lot of netizens told Pooja to run for her life, there was one suggestion which told her to clap back at this creep with “I have a boyfriend”. And it looks someone like she (or someone else) took that advice to heart.

Both of these hacks have been done anonymously. However, since it happened within less than 24 hours, the site’s security became a matter of concern.

As reported by NDTV, Jamia Millia’s site was hacked a third time. While the first two hacks were funny, the third hack took a darker and politicised turn.

Although the university was able to restore the site after the previous attacks, it wasn’t able to heighten its security. That’s why it took a third hit by people claiming to be Pakistani hackers. Additionally, the screen was full of inciting messages and even featured website links to the cyber attackers.

As mentioned before, the first two hacks regarding a certain Pooja is funny and passable. However, the third hack is serious and not only because someone is claiming to be a Pakistani hacker. But also because these probably false claims can cause unnecessary international tension. So, the university should start working with the cyber police of India to bring this fiasco to an end and bolster the site’s security to avoid further attacks.
