Irrfan Khan is undoubtedly the most underrated Khan in the film Industry. That and the most versatile too. Be it the many characters he has played on the silver screen or the kind of preparation that allows him to get under the skin of the character, Irrfan’s body of work is proof of the powerhouse-performer he is!
But times are changing and so are the ways to promote a movie. That’s what the newspapers tell anyway. But that’s not all they tell; sometimes the eager mind overdoes things that spin tales far away from reality. Yeah, I’m going to tell you about one.
It so happened that Mid-day, an English daily, recently ran a piece about how Irrfan Khan is throwing a party for all the single people in the film industry to promote his new release, ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle.’
Oh, and the newspaper even gave out specifications on how Salman Khan is an invitee and birthday boy Shah Rukh Khan is not. In fact, it read like:
“Bhai will receive an invitation, but wedded badshah can’t come.”
But vartalaap ka aadhar yeh hai ki, Irrfan had no freaking clue about this party that the paper had the guest list printed for. How do I know that? He took Twitter to share his disbelief.

I’m not saying anything, but Irrfan’s words say a lot about the fact-checking machinery at the newsrooms, especially in today’s date and time. Well, at least now we know. And Twitter saves the day!
