Iron Man made his biggest cinematic appearance in 2008 with Tony Stark playing Robert Downey Jr. (or is it the other way round?). Since then he has appeared 9 times on the big screen and wowed us with his snark, humour and obviously, technology. However, while the fandom is gushing over his latest Bleeding Edge Armour suit, they’ll be heartbroken to know that the original one is missing.
Reportedly, the prop that was used in Jon Favreau’s ‘Iron Man’ has been stolen from a facility in Los Angeles. The police who’re looking into this matter said that,
“It was reported by the storage facility that the prop was missing. It is considered a burglary.”
The suit was apparently stolen from a facility in the Pacoima neighbourhood in Los Angeles between February and April 25. And if you’re thinking it’s one crazy Iron Man fan who’s done that, that’s not the case. The obvious reason why it has been stolen is because after the Marvel Cinematic Universe skyrocketed, the suit’s estd. value stands at ₹ 2 crore.
Nevertheless, the internet wasn’t convinced because they had a variety of suspicions regarding the stealing of the Iron Man suit.
1. That’s sadly true.
If someone can successfully steal a full on #IronMan suit and get away with it, then they deserve to keep it. https://t.co/MkH9ohtIFB

2. There’s the plot of ‘Spider-Man 2’. Oh wait.
Finally a story that can be served by my immense nerdery – the LAPD is investigating the theft of the Iron Man suit from the Avengers movies. No, I am not making this up. Yes, this is kind of the plot of Spiderman: Homecoming.

4. That’ll be the best plot twist in this story.
Please, please news gods, let someone dressed up as a super villain be the suspect — LAPD investigating disappearance of Iron Man suit used in Marvel's 'Avengers' films https://t.co/4MLtkOT1qo

5. That’s always a possibility.
Are we going to pretend as if we didn’t know who stole the Iron Man suit? That’s what Marvel gets for not letting @RobertDowneyJr keep the props 😂 pic.twitter.com/cRHd95bH0x

This isn’t probably the first time that an iconic movie prop has been stolen because of its monetary value. But it’s certainly the most timely one, given the success of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. So, if you see someone flying past your window in a hot-rod red and gold suit, tell him or her to please return it back.
