Indore Mayor Accidentally ‘Kills’ PM Modi And MP CM, Puts Garlands On Their Pictures.

Since time immemorial, Indians have used flowers for paying respect. From offering them to gods in temples to garland achievers, flowers are an integral part of Indian culture. But, there is a huge (and I can’t stress on the ‘huge’ enough) difference between putting a garland on a person and doing the same to the picture of a person. (In case you didn’t know, the latter is done to pay respects to the deceased.)

Unfortunately, a BJP Mayor forgot the difference between the two at a function.

In what can be termed a goof-up of epic proportions, Indore Mayor Malini Gaud accidently paid floral tributes to PM Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan during a function.

Malini Gaud is the wife of former MP Cabinet minister Late Laxman Singh Gaud.

 

During an event at her home, the mayor put a garland on the picture of her deceased husband. She then went on to put similar garlands on the pictures of the PM and the CM which were right next to it.

BJP’s Indore unit did not make any comment on the incident.

 

Jitendra ‘Jitu’ Patwari, a Congress MLA from Rau constituency brought up the issue to light. He also added that the mayor should have been more attentive considering she herself is a member of the BJP.

“Whoever had put garland around pictures of the PM and chief minister, should be punished.”

Moral of the story: Think twice before putting a garland on a picture, especially when there are cameras watching you.
