Planning an exciting holiday with your better half is just the best feeling in the world! But few things are worse than having your plans abruptly cancelled. An unexpected divorce is one of them. And this is exactly what happened to Kathryn as she was busy planning a honeymoon with her husband Tim.
It had been a few years since they were married and were finally headed on a honeymoon. Having come across a luxury hotel that was on their wish-list, Tim said he’d book it after work. However, a rude surprise awaited Kathryn when she got home.Â
Far from being excited about the trip, Tim seemed upset and said he wanted a divorce. Mirror UK reports Kathryn saying,
“Everything after that is a blur, but I can picture his face and how nervous he was. I was so, so, so, so shocked, but I know I asked him why and he just said, quite coldly, ‘Because I can see that I’m not in love with you and this marriage is not going to work out.'”
She says her family couldn’t believe it and some wondered if her husband was cheating on her. Matters got worse when some of her friends excluded her from social gatherings. Feeling alone and left out, she invited a friend out to breakfast to cheer herself up. But, she noticed that two of her other best friends had arrived as well.
“I remember my best friend looked so tired and nervous and said they had something they needed to tell me and it was pretty bad,” she recollects.
She was told that one of her good friends was seeing Tim. She instantly called her husband and her friend, but as both ignored her call, she headed to her friend’s office to confront her. However, she was told that the other woman was on leave. Kathryn recalled that it was the week she would have been on her honeymoon with Tim.
She then discovered that her friend put up pics on social media from the very same hotel she’d planned to book with her hubby. The woman wasn’t alone. After the holiday, Tim and the woman tried to tell Kathryn that their relationship began after Tim announced the divorce. But Kathryn doesn’t believe him.
