Holi isn’t all about colours, washing your face aggressively so you don’t look half pink, half red. Holi is about letting the awesome food and slightly tipsy drinks take your heart away. So when you wake up this Holi, the first thing on your mind should be these dishes, instead of how many water balloons are going to hit me on my face today.
1. Bhang ke Pakore
It is a task to drink Bhang for the newbies, but guess what if I told you, you could eat it instead?
2. Gujiya
Sweet and savory, that’s what Holi is all about bros!
3. Thandai
Something to kick in this Holi with a little bit of approved high.
4. Puran Poli
The sweet flatbread that’s going to distract you from all the eggs that have been thrown at you.
5. Bhang Lassi
The things that makes all the uncles so much fun during Holi.
6. Kachori
All I need in life is a plate of hot Kachoris and some chai, holiday is sorted.
7. Jaljeera
Ahh the refreshing, wonderful taste of Jaljeera during a hot Holi-day (get it?) is goals.
8. Kesar Chawal
Nothing says royal Indian holiday like Saffron Rice. Get a plate of saffron rice from your colony Holi buffet and dunk that into a bowl of dahi in order to achieve nirvana.
9. Malpua
Indian pancakes, yes they exist and yes they are every bit as delicious. Que *mouthwatering*
10. Kanji ke vade
Instead of onion pakoda in the rain, we munch of crispy, crunchy, hot Kanji Vada during Holi and it’s unbelievable.
11. Papri
Seriously, one word: Papri Chat.
12. Jalebi and Milk
Hot Jalebi and cold milk during Holi, is equivalent to cookies and milk during christmas, so be the colourful Santa and start dipping those jalebis.
This Holi you should don the chef hat and an apron and start cooking, it’s going to be a Holiday to remember.
What are you eating this Holi?Â
