Now There’s A Special Helpline Available At All Movie Theatres To Combat Looming MNS Threat

Ever since the MNS called for a ban on Pakistani artists from working in Bollywood, the release of films starring Pakistani actors have been threatened. The films which are most vulnerable are Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Fawad Khan and SRK’s Raees starring Mahira Khan. The MNS has threatened violence against any movie theatres that decide to screen the film.

In order to prepare for this looming threat from the MNS, the police have set up a special helpline at all single screen theatres and multiplexes. The helpline directly connects with the crime branch so as to ensure swift action.

This was set up right after a meeting of producers with director-general Satish Mathur, Mumbai police chief DD Padsalgikar and joint commissioner Deven Bharti.

This action also has the firm backing of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who had this to say regarding the threat.

“Anyone found taking the law into their hands will be dealt with firmly.”

The police are definitely serious about taking action as seen from this morning’s arrest of 12 MNS workers who barged into Metro Theatre in South Mumbai.

The party workers told the theatre management not to screen Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. They were booked by the Azad Maidan police and will be detained until the 4th of November.
