After the devastating Uri attacks which claimed the lives of 18 Indian Army men, tensions between India and Pakistan have heightened to a much greater level. There have been calls by influential nations like the United States to designate Pakistan as a terrorist state.
The MNS Chitrapat Sena, an affiliate of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, has dealt a blow of their own to Pakistan. They have given an ultimatum to all Pakistani actors in the country to leave within the next 48 hours.
Among the actors are well known Bollywood stars like Fawad Khan, Ali Zafar and Mahira Khan, all of whom are slated to appear in upcoming films.
The president of the MNS Chitrapat Sena, Amey Khopkar made this statement directed towards the Pakistani actors.
Leaders from the party have also said they will not allow for the release of the movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ on account of having Fawad Khan starring in the film.
The party has also targeted other upcoming films like Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ because it stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.
The attack on Uri must certainly not go unpunished, however, is targeting film stars just because of their origin the right way to go about exacting punishment?
