In the star-studded event that was hosted by the Ambani family at the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, not just Bollywood celebrities but even several of Hollywood’s biggest names marked their presence. Tom Holland, Zendaya, Gigi Hadid, Penelope Cruz and others graced the occasion and left several people speechless.
Zendaya made quite the entrance wearing a navy blue coloured sequined saree paired with a golden blouse. Respecting our tradition, she joined her hands in pranaam as she greeted the paparazzi.

However, a guy named Prayag Tiwari went on Twitter to share a collage of Zendaya’s look and claimed that in Chandigarh, every lane has 70 women who look prettier than her.

See, here’s the thing. You can compliment a person without pulling another person down. You do not have to pit one woman against another, in fact, any person irrespective of gender against another, to prove one is better than the other. Indian women are beautiful, but so is Zendaya. To bring her down to show Indian women in a better light is just downright distasteful.

The kind of vocabulary we use while complimenting people through the medium of comparison needs to change. We are better than this.
