The world was in shock after hearing the story of the distressed 19-year-old who lost just about everything in JUST one night. She was gang raped in an auto and her 9-month-old daughter was thrown onto a divider.
Yesterday, Storypick reported more details of the case and the heart-wrenching sight of how she took her motionless girl in the metro to the doctor.
Today, Hindustan Times reported more details of the case and interviewed the 19-year-old, who braved to share the nightmarish details of that night.
On May 29, Laxmi (name changed) witnessed the horror of her life when her 9-month-old daughter fell from the stairs. Suspecting that their neighbour had something to do with it, she angrily walked to the woman and confronted her.
When the other woman denied the allegations, Laxmi’s husband hit her. As the woman was pregnant, she fell but survived a miscarriage. The woman’s husband called the police, so Laxmi and her husband fled the scene and went separate ways. She said –
“My husband went to Naharpur and I took my eight-month-old daughter with me to go to my in-laws’ place in Gurgaon’s Khandsa village. We left the room around 11.30 -12.00 am on May 29.”
Laxmi wanted to reach her in-laws place in Khandsa as soon as possible. She took a lift from a truck at Bas Kusla village. She explained what happened in the truck –
“The truck driver stopped the vehicle after driving for a little while and started molesting me. When he continued, I tried getting out of the truck but couldn’t. I then jumped off the truck with my daughter.”
She then explains that there were three men sitting there having beer. As there was no one in the vicinity, she asked them for help. The men beat the truck driver for molesting the woman and offered her a ride home.
The new details also quote the police saying that it was not an auto, it was a van. The three men assured her that they will safely drop her to the destination and to a helpless Laxmi, that seemed like the only option.
Laxmi sat with them in the van till the time they stopped at the Kherki Daula toll. Laxmi told what one of the men said –
“‘Hari, tu khana bandhwa, hum gaadi modke late hain,’ the driver told one of them and went to the Kherki Daula toll.
They had a fight with the toll official over fee. They then started the van and went back to the Rimjhim hotel where Hari was waiting.”
The road to the hotel was desolate, they took her there and raped her taking turns. The baby was with them the entire time. After they were done, they left the woman injured and threw her daughter from the van.
At around 2 am when the woman regained consciousness, all she saw was her motionless daughter lying on the road.
The incident happened on May 29 and Laxmi didn’t have the courage to tell her family and police about the gang rape. She revealed it on June 3.
Good news is that the three evil perpetrators are now under police custody.
