Woman Who Was Gang Raped In An Auto Carried Her Dead Baby In The Metro To The Doctor

There is so much that can be said about the disturbing conditions of women in our country. EVERY DAY, we hear of horrors that we want to believe aren’t humanly possible, but to our shock, they are our reality.

Yesterday, we reported the horrifying case of 23-year-old Gurgaon woman who was gang raped by three men when she boarded an auto. She alleged that they threw her 9-month-old baby out of the rickshaw. Today more details have been released by the police and it’s making our heart sink.

TOI reports that according to the FIR that has been filed at Manesar police station, the woman was not 23 but only 19-years-old. They used and abandoned the injured woman and her dead baby on a dark street at at 2 AM.

She hugged and spent the entire night trying to wake up the motionless baby. In the morning, she took another auto and went to her in-laws place. She went straight to a doctor near their house, who said that the baby was long gone.

The FIR also says that she left the house late at night on May 29, not because she had a fight with her husband but with her immediate neighbours. Woman left with the daughter to go to her in-laws house in old Gurugaon. Her husband was away for work and she couldn’t spend the night in a cutting space.

 

Grieving mother, damaged physically and mentally couldn’t believe it and with her father-in-law, she took the dead baby to another doctor in Tughlakabad by the metro. She then returned to Manesar and filed an FIR.

Before boarding that menacing auto-ride, the 19-year-old took a lift from a truck driver at NH-8. The man made sexual advances at her. She got off the truck, as he seemed drunk.

 

The details of the FIR also go on to say that there were TWO men in the auto she took. They took turns to hold the baby and raped the woman one by one. By the end of it, they threw the baby on a concrete divider. It smashed the head of the little girl. The mother was quoted saying –

“I became numb from that point. All I remember is seeing my child’s head hitting the road divider.”

The woman’s husband spoke to TOI and said, “I was mourning my daughter when my wife revealed about the gang rape. I want the police to make the arrests quickly.”

This is why our country still is faced with a big question mark when it comes to the safety of women.
