Every morning I tell myself- ‘I’ll let nothing affect me adversely today’ (I also tell myself I’ll have a salad for lunch, but that’s for another day). But then I look at the day’s paper and my resoluteness vanishes in thin air (just like my salary after the payday).
If you think I’m exaggerating, wait till I tell you about the incident that took place in UP.
To begin with, Uttar Pradesh Textile Minister Satyadev Pachauri fell unconscious while he was giving a speech at PM Modi’s three-year term in Hardoi. And was rushed to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow.Â
But all hell broke lose when he was taken for an MRI scan along with a gunman who came bearing a loaded pistol.Â
Ignoring the warnings, the UP minister and his guard entered the room when the magnetic field of the machine pulled out the gun!

And now, the unit worth INR 5 Crore stands damaged which will take another 10 days to operate functionally.Â
The cost of repairing the 5-crore machine will come around Rs 40-50 lakh. Not to forget that one shot could have damaged the entire Oncology Department. And who cares if the patients cannot avail the service anymore, right? All hail, VIP culture!
