If you think our parents repel technology, then can you imagine how our grandparents must be feeling every time their phone upgrades to a new OS or Facebook adds a new feature? Utter chaos, I tell you! And that’s exactly what happened with this poor confused Grandma who couldn’t understand the devilish workings of a simple (for us, not her!) GIF!
Twitter user @Alexrkonrad, like any normal human, is part of a family group chat, which includes his grandma. Sweet. One day, someone sent a GIF on the chat, of a clapping Steve Harvey. And then, Grandma’s troubles began….
You see, Konrad’s grandma had never ever seen a GIF before. So naturally, when an outrageously enthusiastic Steve Harvey began clapping, and kept clapping, and clapping, AND CLAPPING, she got super irked!
She was so desperate to make the bald man stop clapping that she decided to go to Verizon, the mobile service provider, to fix whatever was wrong with her phone!
Her kids and grandkids tried to tell her it was a GIF, but Grandma just wouldn’t listen and landed up straight at the mobile store to get some troubleshooting done!
Her fam was super entertained by what was happening here with their clueless Grammy!
Alex remarked in his Twitter thread how his little sister already knew that he was going to post screenshots of this conversation on Twitter!
So apparently, Grandma did get some help from the mobile store and her reaction to the piece of information was so cute and hilarious!

Can you imagine what the staff helped would’ve felt like answering such a query? Well, Alex wondered too!

What was worse was that Grandma had switched off both her phones, which as you know is the ‘parent’ equivalent of solving a tech problem!

But thankfully, the good old landline came to the rescue and Alex finally spoke to his grandma! Their conversation though!

The Twitter thread went viral, and everybody was showing some major love for Alex’s adorably confused Grandma!
What’s more, the service provider Verizon itself reached out to Alex to offer some help!
If you can tell us which store she is at, we can reach out to see if they need assistance helping your Grandma.^TMN

And thanks to the thread going viral, the Verizon staff who assisted the legendary Grandma too stepped forward!
Hey Alex, I'm the guy who helped your grandma! That was one of the more adorable tech questions I've gotten in a while and your grandmother was very nice. I think I'm supposed to add #proud2bvzw or some hashtag like that to keep Verizon compliance happy pic.twitter.com/eimpBIfG4X

He even offered to help teach Grammy some Twitter the next time she had some issues….
Happy to help! Send her back in if she has any other questions. Maybe next time we can teach her how to use Twitter!

… but Alex spoke the gospel truth!

Oh come on, Alex! Let your grandmother learn some Twitter, please! And then, when she’s managed to send her first tweet, we can all applaud her by sending this:
