Freida Pinto Made Sure Leftover Food From Oscars Didn’t Go To Waste. SALUTE!

If award functions are extravagant, the Annual Academy Awards aka the Oscars scream exorbitant, in every way. From the glamour-loaded red carpet to the glittery gala of stars, Oscars are about everything that is Hollywood royalty.

While the event was a grand affair, the stars shined brighter at the after-event bash and enjoyed the Oscars Governors Ball, with world class food catered by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. The menu had root tacos with shrimp, mango, avocado and chipotle aioli to lobster corn dogs and luxurious gold-dusted truffle popcorn.

But ever imagined what happened to the leftover food? ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ actress Freida Pinto did.

This time around, the Oscars fed over ‘800 people’ in needy and hungry Los Angeles communities. Thanks to Freida Pinto and the non-profit organisation, Copia that made it happen.

“Wastage isn’t glamorous, feeding people is.”

The initiative promises #zerowaste and #zerohunger and we don’t think there could be better hashtags!

The NGO even took to Instagram and documented the noble deed of selfless service.

1. Because goodness is always in style

2. Go for silver!

3. Look at the spread…

4. Win win!

What could be better than this? Thank you for showing the world the way, Freida. We owe you this.
