So, all the home chefs, here are 12 extra special, prized and popular Bengali fish curry recipes for you. Prepare them and invite me over for lunch.
1. Rui Maacher Jhol
This is a simple and traditional Bengali dish where the fish is cooked in delicious gravy with potato cubes.
2. Bhetki (Fish) Fry
From old to young, from kids to adults, almost everyone likes Bhetki Fry. Pure Bhetki fillets are marinated for hours and then coated with breadcrumbs and deep fried.
3. Fish Cutlet
Fish cutlet is a starter. Steamed fish minced with spices combined with potatoes are shaped into cutlets and fried.
4. Ilish Paturi
Ilish Paturi is a traditional way of making hilsa curry. The banana leaves retain the flavour of the fish as well as the spices.
5. Rui Maacher Kalia
Rui Kalia is one of the signature dishes from Bengali cuisine. All you need for this fish curry is Big size Rui or Katla fish. And it’s sorted.
6. Chingri Maacher Malai Curry
Prawns are cooked in hot spices and then bathed in the creamy flavor of coconut milk.
7. Masala Fried Pomfret
A whole fried Pomfret makes for a primal, deeply satisfying meal and an impressive display on the table. It is crispy on the outside and moist with the juices inside the flesh.
8. Sorse Bata Ilish Maach
The fish is marinated with turmeric and delicately simmered in a mustard-poppy seed paste along with panch phoron (five-spice mix).
9. Koi Phulkopi
Koi maach is generally made in winter and is very tasty and rich in flavor.
10. Moong Daler Murighanta
Muri Ghonto is a dry dish made with fried fish head (maacher matha or muro), potatoes, very little rice and myriad spices.
11. Sorshe Pabda
Pabda Machher Sorshe Bata in mustard sauce is a popular Bengali cuisine. It is another fish delicacy, which is served with warm rice.

Everybody knows Bengali cuisine is all about fish, fish and more fish and koi is a delicacy. Tel Koi is a gravy based dish made with koi maach and mustard oil.
