Recently, a picture of a kid eating aloo parathas with a fork and a knife shocked several desi people online. Since we have been taught that the real taste of Indian food comes only when we eat using our hands, seeing a fork and a knife being used to “butcher” a paratha was considered a “blasphemy”.
However, things have taken a turn for the worse. An etiquette expert from Britain who is the former butler to Princes Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry took to Twitter to explain how rice should be eaten using a fork and a knife.
“Ladies and gentlemen, remember we always use a knife and fork or chopsticks to eat rice! We do not use our hands or fingers,” he wrote.

Even though his etiquette lesson only applies to the British, people online, especially desis, thought it fitting to give him a piece of their mind. Some asked a very practical question – what is the knife for? Do we cut the rice?

I’m sorry for doubting the words of someone who doesn’t wash his butt after pooping.

That’s why you people never experience the pleasure &satisfaction of eating with hands. Especially Indian food .
A Dosa or a paratha ,doesn’t taste like it, if eaten with

Thank you very much, we prefer our hands and fingers to eat and we are unapologetic about it.
We don’t need the so-called civilizing colonizers anymore, we are an older civilization than you.

I use my hand – I’m right handed . Happy with that it’s my ancestral practice it’s pretty wonderful you should try it – especially rice you can really mix it with the tips of your fingers what’s in your plate form a bite size piece and place into your mouth . Delicious .

We don't need a British man to tell us how to eat rice. They didn't even know how to cooked rice properly. https://t.co/QRx3Ew1yXn
