While we don’t necessarily enjoy the long security queues at the airport, they are there for a reason. Not only do security checks ensure passenger safety, but they also make sure that no illegal item is smuggled into the country. And no matter, how creative offenders get, police officials always manage to grab the culprits.
Like recently, custom officials seized drugs worth Rs 5 crores hidden in wedding cards from the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, reports NDTV. The courier terminal had reportedly received an unusually heavy packet of 43 wedding cards that were being sent to Australia.
Have a look at their tweet about the encounter:

As the package, booked by a Madurai-based exporter, seemed suspicious, the officials decided to cut it open. The wedding invites were so heavy that officials had to use scissors to open them.
“There were 43 foldable cards foldable and made of cardboard with a bottom layer. When we cut open the bottom of each card, we found 80 polythene pouches containing a white crystalline substance hidden between the papers,” an investigating officer in Bangalore Customs at KIA’s cargo section was quoted saying by Times of India.
