Bollywood’s most sassy and classy couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have been by each other’s side in sickness and in health. After dating for almost six years, the duo got married according to Indian customs in Lake Como two years ago.
However, when the actors announced their wedding, everyone wondered what attracted them to each other, given the fact that both of them have such vivid yet contrasting personalities.
Opening about her decision to choose Ranveer as her life partner, Deepika said:
“Everybody talks about his energy but what most people don’t realize is that this is not who he is all the time.”
“What attracted me to him was the fact is that we have been together for eight years (dated for six and married for two) and are still discovering each other. I think that is the beauty of our relationship. We started off not as lovers but close friends, who connected at some level, even though we are very different people.”
“So, even today, I don’t think he knows everything about me, and I can’t say I know everything about him,” quoted News18.
The ‘Padmaavat’ actor further revealed that even though they seek each other’s advice, they don’t interfere in their decisions. “We talk about things, he’ll talk about his meetings, films that he has been offered. I’ll talk about things that I’ve been offered and am considering, but, we do not interfere in one another’s professional decisions.”
“Of course, if he’s had a hard day or I’ve had a hard day or if things are not going well, or even if they are going well, we’ll definitely share with each other, talk and guide each other, but, at the end of the day, the final decision is one’s own.”
Even though the accomplished actor can have an army of staff at her disposal, she prefers doing all her house chores by herself. Sharing how her typical day at home goes, the actor said, “So, my typical day is like anyone else’s, where I wake up and, sometimes, there is no water in the tap, or there’s some problem with the staff. It is like any other home or situation, which I handle on my own.”
“That’s the way I have been brought up. I don’t know whether I do this intentionally or whether that is second nature to me, but including things like packing, unpacking, ordering groceries, managing the home and office, I do it all myself,” Hindustan Times quoted her saying.
She adds that Ranveer keeps asking her why she does all this by herself. But she likes to take care of her home by herself. “I don’t know any other way of being. I am extremely hands-on with my home, with my staff, and any other issue that one must deal with on a daily basis. I am very home proud and have worked hard,” she divulged adding that when she has guests over, she organizes everything by herself and serves them home-cooked food.
