In Bollywood, when a movie touches 100 crores we’re happy. When it hits 200, we’re happier. When it’s close to 500, we’re ecstatic! Most recently, Sonu Sood and Jackie Chan starrer ‘Kung Fu Yoga‘ surpassed 1000 crore and we were beyond ecstatic. Adding to the excitement, another one of Bollywood’s favourites recently joined the 1000 crore club.
Deepika Padukone’s ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage’ crossed 1000 crore ($155 million) in worldwide earnings, making it her highest grossing film ever!
What’s more, the film only recently released in China, one of Hollywood’s biggest markets. So that figure of 1000 may soon surge to a lot more once the numbers from China are in.
Our Bollywood favourite has certainly had a stellar start to the year! 😀
