The Indian Premier League is full of glitz and glam. Its shortened innings provides for some brilliant displays of power, talent and agility. Additionally, emotions are usually high between the competing teams and among the fans as well. However, sometimes there are moments where things slow down and the people on the field form a bond. While a few weeks ago, it was Virat Kohli who melted everyone by hugging Dhoni, this time it’s Andrew Tye with his special innings.
Kings XI Punjab recently went up against Rajasthan Royals where Andrew Tye took 4 wickets in his four-over run. While that won him the purple cap, he won our hearts by dedicating it to his late grandmother.
Kings XI Punjab had begun the series on a really high note by mowing down all their opponents with ease. But now they’ve lost four matches, relegating them to the 3rd position on the IPL table. However, all that didn’t stop Andrew Tye from bowling fantastically.
While bowling, Andrew was seen kissing an armband with the letters on it saying ‘GRANDMA’. However, it was when he was called during the presentation ceremony that Andrew revealed that his grandmother has recently passed away. That’s why he was dedicating his purple-cap winning over to her.

4. That’s true.
'My Grandma passed away today and I would like to dedicate this performance to her': Andrew Tye, choking up, with 'Grandma' visible on the black arm-band he is wearing. Good on him to come out and play, and do so well too.
