Dance is probably the best form of expression which allows one to communicate without any language. That and it is hella fun to groove your body to music. I mean, apart from the fact that it is therapeutic, there are even various types of dances that are suggested for a balanced workout regime.

But I’m sure you have heard all of that. However, have you heard of dancing helping with labour pain? That’s right, apparently dancing in labour helps with pain relief. If you don’t believe me, well it’s a good thing I have a doctor saying so…

Meet Fernando Guedes da Cunha, the Brazilian dancing doctor who has taken the internet by storm with his advanced (and super slick) birthing technique- dancing!

According to the doc, dancing is an effective form of pain relief for women going through labour. And guess what, he is a man of science (sorry). Reportedly, dancing can help the birth process as it assists the baby in moving through the birth canal structures. It helps shift the pressure of the baby pressing on maternal skeletal structures and organs.

See? Wait there’s more.

The doctor has even shared some of these videos along dancing with expecting mothers and it’s certainly working. Have a dekko.

1. His first viral video surfaced in August last year where he danced with a mum-to-be to ‘Despacito’!

2. While labour can be extremely painful, seems like the trick is working!

3. Now, that’s some way to soften the blow!

All the expecting mothers out there, are you listening? I mean…I can not imagine how excruciatingly painful it must be to push a baby out of your system but anything that helps, right?
