Convicted Murderer From UP, Found 19 Years Later Working As A Cop In Uttarakhand

Several cons where men and women pose as fake government officials to reap benefits that come with their position have come to light time and again. Some criminals also flee away and disguise themselves as different personalities to escape punishment.

In a similar case, Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Abhaipur, Bareily was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2000 following the charges of murder against him that took place in 1997. Mukesh fled away and moved to Uttarakhand in 2001 and participated in a police recruitment program in the same year, reports TOI.

He bagged the job and was working as a constable with Almora police ever since. A resident of Bareilly, Naresh Kumar, wrote to Superintendent of Police of Almora that Mukesh who worked in their police force was actually a convict who was charged with murder 19 years back. An investigation was carried out and police found out the complaint filed by Naresh to be true, reports Pune Mirror.

Uttarakhand police have assured that an investigation is underway and Mukesh has been taken into custody.

Among all the cons ever taken place, this one surely takes the cake. What do you think?
