It is a terrible experience to lose your valuables and belongings at an airport which has thousands of people roaming about. The fear of someone else stealing them grapples you. However, in airports across India, officers from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) are deployed who go out of their way to help passengers in such cases.
For example, a woman named Meghna Girish took to Twitter to share how she forgot her handbag containing her house keys and wallet inside a washroom at Bengaluru airport. While she panicked, a CISF officer assured her that they will retrieve her handbag. Within 10 minutes, the officer got an airline staff to retrieve it.
“It was past midnight when I tiredly walked out of the airport terminal…. forgetting my handbag with house keys, wallet and all else in the wash room inside! The CISF officer first reassured me with ‘mil jayega, ek pin bhi yahan gum nahin hoga’, and while I had to wait outside, he got the Vistara ground staff to retrieve it, made sure my ID cards in the bag matched the boarding card on my phone…. and grateful me sheepishly thanked them heaved a sigh of relief and took a cab home…. All stress was over in 10 minutes! Doubtful of such efficiency, calm confidence and smiling effort as our airport staff anywhere in the world,” Meghna tweeted.

While several people online lauded the officer, many others shared similar experiences of how security officials helped them reunite with their lost belongings. Have a look at some of the responses here:
CAPFs are a very hardworking force, ma’am; working conditions are no easier than in the Armed Forces, and they deserve all the respect too.
A small amount of appreciation for hard-working individuals can make a great difference.
Thank you, Ma’am.

I had the same experience on Monday night. More drama and less support from @IndiGo6E , but absolutely that same calm reassurance from the lovely #CISF officer at the exit gate. And like yours, my guy was 💯 correct. Got my bag back with all in place.

Salute to these dedicated sentinels. Years back with 4 huge bags with wife & 2 small kids from Kuwait customs officer waved me through shocked I asked “dont you want to check?” and he smilingly said “enjoy your holiday”. That is what I call TRUST IN CAPITALS

Absolutely correct. Our airport security is the best. My daughter once left her headphone at the security. She picked up the laptop bag but forgot the headphones. Panic sets in. She ran back and the items were kept aside by CISF. Feeling of getting back lost item is so good.

At Patna, while removing my jacket for specify, my gold bracelet fell down and I realised it in lounge. CISF scanned CCTV, identified who picked up, deplaned him at Ranchi and recovered. I got it when I visited Patna a month later. @CISFHQrs @TOIPatna published this also
