Chinese Boy Took iPhone-Kidney Jokes Too Seriously, Actually Sold One To Buy An iPhone

Just like any other Apple product, iphone 4 too took the youth by rage back in 2012. Carrying an Apple product was/is a status symbol. To what extent can you go to lay your hands on the latest Apple model? Not more than this Chinese boy, we bet!

At the age of 17, Xiao Wang in his quest to obtain an iphone under peer pressure, as carrying the latest model of Apple in school was ‘cool’ back then, decided to sell away one of his kidneys.

He took this extreme step as he learned that surviving with single kidney was possible, reported iDrops News.

“One kidney is enough for me, why do I need the other one? Why don’t I just sell it?” Wang quoted.

Now 24, Wang struggles to move, is completely bed-ridden and on dialysis to survive! He happened to fell prey to an ‘illegal underground hospital’ which offered him as huge as 22,000 Yuan (~ Rs. 2.24 lac) for his kidney. Wang was told by a hospital arbitrator that he’d lead a normal life again after a week of recovery, which only turned out to be a nightmare.

The conditions under which the surgery took place was not sanitized properly. It led to an infection in Wang’s wound.

All this was happening without the knowledge of his parents and they could only come to know about all the scam after their son had severely fallen sick of the infection. According to the reports, through the years, the infection spread out to his other kidney causing severe damage. He was then taken to a reputable hospital for treatments but all in vain.

Soon his family ran out of money due to high expenses of Zang’s dialysis. But, eventually, both the arbitrator and the illegal hospital who performed his procedure were brought to justice. As well as the Wang family received enough monetary compensation for the treatment of their son.

Now to laugh or to cry over this? I wish people could turn some other good iphone jokes to life for me as well, like, “Siri, do my laundry!” And Siri really does it someday, I hope!
