Every once in a while, we hear about credit card frauds that occur if the card is stolen or lost. But in a bizarre incident, a Dubai-based woman, who had reported that her credit card was stolen, discovered that her husband had used it to pay his girlfriend’s dues. What?!
The woman, who didn’t know about her husband’s affair, had received a notification about an unknown transaction on her credit card. She immediately called the bank and froze her card and reported the incident to Dubai Police. At the time, she believed her card was hacked or stolen, reports the Gulf News. However, she had no clue that her husband had used her card to pay his girlfriend’s traffic dues.
The police launched an investigation and identified the woman who had used the credit card. She was summoned for questioning and that is when the cops found out that the card used to pay the fines belonged to the woman’s friend. However, she had no clue he was married. Captain Abdullah Al Shehi, Deputy Director of Cyber-Crime Department at Dubai Police, was quoted saying,
 “It was a strange case because the wife didn’t know that her husband used her credit card to pay his friend’s traffic fines. The friend didn’t know that he was married and the wife didn’t know that he had a girlfriend.”
