As freshers, people are expected to be satisfied with the little salaries they get and work on their skills meanwhile. Steadily, one can climb up the ladder of their professional lives and in a couple of years, they’ll see a huge difference in their salaries and the roles they get to pay.
But sadly, that’s not the case at Chandigarh University, a private university in Mohali, Punjab. According to MoneyControl, they are willing to offer only Rs 10,468 salary a month to full-time video editors with 4-5 years of experience.
A screenshot of the requirements went viral on Twitter.
The candidate requirements that Chandigarh University is seeking are bizarre as compared to the salary they were willing to shell out.
“Knowledge of 2D/3D, stop motion and computer-generated animation. Proficient in CGI software (Photoshop, 3ds Max, Maya, etc.). Knowledge of tools like Aftereffects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, 3D Animation, PPT, Graphic Animation, Maya, 3ds Max, etc. A creative storyteller with presentation abilities. Added advantage – degree in computer animation, 3D/graphic design, fine arts or relevant field,” the job requirements section read.

Several people were shocked by the fact that a full-time skilled video editor would be getting paid in peanuts for their hard work. Some claimed that the candidates should get at least Rs 40-50K for the job.
That person should atlesst get 40-50k

Do they understand what stop motion is? How lengthy and nerve wrecking?

Some employers truly underestimate the kind of hard work and dedication that goes behind video and content creation. This is terribly disrespectful to the video editors. The salary in no way justifies the courses they have taken, the time they have spent excelling in their skills and gaining work experience of so many years. Don’t you think?
