Women Share Black & White Selfies In Attempt To Uplift Each Other & Spread Positivity Online

If you are an avid Instagram user, you might have noticed that over the past couple of days, women online have been posting their black and white pictures with the hashtag #challengeaccepted.

They are also nominating other women to do the same. Well, if you’re wondering why they are doing so, then let me help you out here.

The hashtag is actually a part of the global campaign #womensupportingwomen wherein women extend their support to one other and promote female empowerment. Some of them have been writing powerful and empowering quotes as a show of love and support towards their clan. They also intend to spread positivity through this social media trend at such testing times.

News18 reported that the movement intensified after an American politician made derogatory comments against a female politician and called her “a f**king bitch.

Ok ok challenge accepted! I will reserve judgement and be kind. Thank you all those who nominated me 😂 This is me 3 months pregnant. It feels like a totally different human than I am now. The first 3 months are all about that delicious feeling of carrying a magic seed inside you that no one knows about. It's mysterious, like having a cave of secret treasure inside you, shining bright. As I get into researching my book, I'm taken back through my journey, reading my posts I travel through time through all those feelings and emotions and intuitions. And so many of you joined me on this journey. I wasn't very active on social media till I got pregnant. Zanu or my #chiaseed is really a child of the gram. And we had so many conversations, discussions, swapping of info, advice and counter-advice. I remember asking about her first cold, what you thought about milk, breastfeeding, travelling, all her first foods. What I really really want to write is a book free of judgement. Of multiple perspectives. Of compassion and humour and kindness. I want to write a book that says – look, I don’t know it all and every baby is different. This is your unique journey to discover what you both like to eat with all the tools you need to know, all the recipes that make this journey fun and all the inputs you could possibly need from all kinds of experts like nutritionists, child psychologists, Ayurvedic doctors, yoga teachers, gynacs, midwives, doulas, jhapas, paeditatricians, homeopaths, pilates teachers and most importantly – MUMS! And in a very literal translation of #womensupportingwomen , I would love for you to be a part of it. I want to touch upon various topics and gather all the knowledge gained through real experience, all the grandma's advice that is now being scientifically proven, all the mistakes and fumbles, all the hard-won victories and tears behind them! The book is from pregnancy to recipes for toddlers. Basically the past 3 and 1/2 years of my life. I hope you join me on this journey. Let's start with commenting #mumssupportingmums and tagging the first person you told (besides your husband and mum) ❤️

Desi people might have seen several TV series wherein female antagonist plots against a female protagonist proving that ‘women are women’s worst enemies.’ Well, some of us might have experienced it ourselves, but times are definitely changing. And I am glad that I live in a time where women aren’t jealous of others but can move mountains to uplift them to victory. Cheers to the women of today!
