Once a superhit actor of the industry, Bobby Deol’s acting career took a turn for the worse with the end of the 90s. The actor, who appeared in movies like ‘Gupt’, ‘Soldier’ and ‘Aur Pyar Ho Gaya’ got faded out of the limelight as his movie appearances started getting lesser and lesser every passing year. However, the actor is trying to make a comeback and recently gave an interview talking about all that happened in the past and how he is trying to make amends for the future.
Recalling on his off from work days, Bobby said in an interview with The Huffington Post that he was on the verge of becoming a total alcoholic. The actor said that it was his wife, Tanya who helped him get out of the phase. Quoting her, he said,
“What’re you doing? This isn’t going to help. Why are you being so self-destructive?”
Talking about his career as a DJ, Bobby said that he was conned into the job and the incident only degraded his reputation.
Making a huge revelation, Bobby also said that he was originally going to star in the hit 2007 movie, ‘Jab We Met’.
The actor said that Imtiaz cheated him out of the role and even did the same thing with another of his movies, ‘Highway’. The actor added that despite all this, he holds no grudges against the director.
The actor finally said that he and Imtiaz are still good friends, but he will only watch his films on one condition.
“We’re still friends. But I always tell him: ‘Imtiaz, I won’t watch any of your films until you make one with me. That’ll be your best film’.”
Whew, that was some interview. Seems like Bobby Deol had a lot left unsaid.
