Meet Mumbai’s Bharat Jain, World’s Richest Beggar With Net Worth Of ₹7.5 Crore

When we think of a beggar, we visualize a man or a woman on the roadside with torn, soiled clothes and dishevelled hair asking for money because they are hungry. They sleep and eat on the roadside and are at the mercy of the kindness of strangers. However, Bharat Jain is not one of them.

According to Hindustan Times, Bharat Jain is the richest beggar in the world. He has accumulated a net worth of Rs 7.5 crore and earns Rs 60,000 to Rs 75,000 every month.

He is from Mumbai and he is usually spotted begging at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station (CSMT) or Azad Maidan. In one day, he earns Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500 within a span of 10 to 12 hours, thanks to the kindness of strangers, reported Mint.

He owns a 2 BHK flat in Mumbai worth Rs 1.2 crore and has two shops in Thane which he rents out for Rs 30,000. He lives in a 1BHK duplex apartment in Parel and his kids, who have now completed their education, went to convent schools. His other family members run a stationary store.

Despite being asked several times by his family, Bharat hasn’t given up on begging. His family includes his wife, two sons, brother and his father.

I’m currently questioning every major life decision I’ve ever made!
