Since social media took off, there’s a constant flow of insane internet challenges, cat videos, doggo content and of course, proposal videos. Considering the number of proposal videos that show up on the internet, you’d think every possible way to pop the question has been done already. Sweet and simple ones, big grand ones including pink range rovers, underwater proposals, you name it and it’s been done.

So then, what does one do when you want to propose marriage to your better half and still keep it as unique and special as possible?

For one young man from Bangalore, that meant pumping some adrenaline into his relationship before going down on one knee.

When 30-year-old Adrian Mackay proposed to girlfriend Susan Kuruvilla, they set a record of sorts in the process.

This month, Adrian became the first to ever propose to someone on the world’s longest zipline in UAE’s Ras Al Khaimah.

Susan was greeted with the sight of a “Will you marry me?” banner and Adrian on one knee as she landed on the platform 80m above the Jebel Jais mountain floor, after zipping across the valley.

And of course, she said YES!

Speaking to Dubai Eye, Adrain says:

“I wanted to do something special to make our engagement unique and when I heard about the world’s longest zipline, I knew it would be the perfect way to propose. From the beautiful drive to Ras Al Khaimah to the stunning views in the Jais Mountains and the exhilaration of the zipline itself, it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

“I’m so happy I got to ask the girl of my dreams to marry me and do the world’s longest zip line,” he adds.
